News from around the social media globe

Resource of the Week

I found Follower Wonk earlier this week and excitedly shared this discovery with my work colleagues. Their reaction was muted. Not to be dissuaded, I went to the next pod in the hopes of raising greater interest. Alas, I was met with a similarly, apathetic response. A pox on them, both.

Consider followerwonk your go-to when you need to perform a deep dive analysis of Twitter accounts, the people they follow and their followers. I really like this site for several reasons:

  • You can search Twitter for people based on topics (i.e. Alzheimer’s, cancer etc) and grade them based on their social influence (Klout)
  • You can also analyse Twitter accounts of people and work out:
  • When they post
  • Who they follow
  • What times their followers are active
  • What time the people they follow are active
  • How influential their followers are
  • How influential the people they follow are

Have a play and you’ll see what I mean.
